So were going through and blasting and painting our M416. During the process the original fenders were pretty well banged up and they were removed. I still have them, but I really don't want to put them back on.

I supose I could go buy some generic fenders at TSC or Northern Tool, but is there anything saying why I can't run without fenders?

Depends on what the Texas motor vehicle code has to say. Pennsylvania says vehicles and trailers need fenders.

You will need fenders of some kind. You might get away without them for a while, but someday Mr. DPS will decide to talk to you about it.

Since you mentioned Tractor Supply and Northern Tool... Take a look at all their rinky-dink trailers for sale next time you get a chance. They all have fenders no matter how cheap they are.

IIRC, the PRK VC says that you don't need fenders if trailer is under some threshold weight (1500 lbs maybe?). So this may well depend on the state.

There is of course the issue of flinging stones at your truck or others without fenders...

Yeah, I don't want to be flinging stones at people.

as for the wheel size, I will measure when I go. We're runing a 15" wheel with 33 x 10.5 (to match the truck), so it has to fit those, they have larger sizes

Yeah I saw these, I may just buy a pair and weld them on and be done with it.

I ended up making mine for my build, but before deciding that I bought a pair of ready-mades that you can have. I think they were like $40@. Maybe a Mudship????
They are real close to original-looking. PM me a cell# or email and I'll send pics.

Throwing stones is definitely a bad idea, because pretty soon you're talking someone's windshield.

Then there is MUD. First time you do that on the trail and don't have your windows rolled up...

You can also take your old ones to a metal shop and have copies made. The bends are pretty simple, so they shouldn't cost too much. Of course, tractor supply is the easiest route to go.
