Just curious as I have searched everywhere (even in my owners manual) and it states how to care for leather and synthetic leather in the cruiser, but doesn't state specifically where. Therefore, are the seats in the cruiser leather or synthetic leather? I have an '11, and am not sure what specific years have what, but I am noticing that my seats have very little wear and are wearing like tanks. Any insight is appreciated.

It's coated leather so there's a plastic vinyl type coating over the leather so it doesn't need leather treatment because it doesn't get past the vinyl barrier. The best protection I've found is 303 aero protectant. Great UV protection. Will keep dash and leather and all inside surfaces looking new. I also use it on all the rubber inside and out.

I hear folks on here praise leatherique and using it on their 200. If there is a vinyl treatment over the leather - does that mean something like leatherique is pretty much useless?

I just stocked up today.

Not exactly. Here's an interesting rundown on car leather.

Interestingly...just this evening, I forgot a cold gallon of milk on the back seat after a grocery run. So...it sat there...with very wet condensation for a couple hours. When I finally removed the the gallon, the water left there had begun to soak into the seat material, and it was a little wavy/expanded...the way you'd expect leather to do when it soaks up a bunch of water.

Hmmmm.....

The seating surfaces in the LC (at least in the '17s) are semi-aniline leather, so use the info about care for that type in this article (plus the info in the owner's manual). I've always assumed that "seating surfaces" means literally the top of the seat bottom and the front of the seat back for the leather part.

Right, so items like the headrest are probably pure vinyl. You don't want your Soul Glo to get into your leather.

I used leatherique on my seats two weeks ago. I have the beige interior and it cleaned them up incredibly well. Seats feel much softer and more plush. Doesn't really answer the question but leatherique works very well on them.

Thanks for that. I'd love to know which rabbit hole you were traveling in when you stumbled across that.

What year is your 200? I have an 09 and not sure if my seats are leather or vinyl. I like them just not sure how to treat them.

For what it's worth...my 100 series was unquestionably leather...and it unquestionably turned hard, brittle and compromised.

Whatever they did, I'm calling it an improvement over my 100...

It's my understanding that all USDM 200 series trucks are leather.

VAST IMPROVEMENT! I hate my 100 seats as they are all cracked and worn. My 200 has double the mileage and the seats look and feel new.

They are semi Analine, the same material (leather used in lexus)- i use Lexal to clean and then treat the seats in all my car that have leather .
