no issues known

makes sense as its in the interior. my primary goal behind having the twin compressor is to air back up after airing down and hitting the trails. i also plan to have as a back up for tools in the unfortunate circumstance repairs are needed during a trip in the outback. with my limited use, i don't see much of an overheat concern, but then again what do i know.

its not the usage that causes the heating issue, it’s the mounting location

This is going to be my main use as well. There are really two good options in my opinion.
1. Run an arb twin or other compressor in the rear. Optional air tank under the rig in you need it.
2. Run a york pump off the engine and a tank under the rig.

I only suggest Wits' End because Joey offers quality, thought out, bolt on solutions. There are other options like compressed Co2 and remote air pumps. Those just weren't appealing to me.

I'm gonna run these on my front and rear bumpers. Air Coupler and SB175 Bracket KIT

I just wanna pop my hatch, snag an air hose, flip on a power switch and then get to work.

I have had my twin air in several places in my LX, In a milk crate in the back, under the driver seat I since I got 2nd hand great deal on a Witts End quarter panel mount I put my twin back there. Its spring so I have not tested it in the heat. I guess if I am so worried I could wire in a 12v fan. Since I just did a vid, I guess here would be a good place to post.
Go to 4:40 if you want to see the quarter panel mount.

The QTR Mount would be a great mod! Where was this several years ago when I contemplated the install location?

I have drawers in the cargo area, making this option a little tougher to access. I mounted mine in the small ~10” space between the drawer and the back of the second row seat, but underneath the platform that is above the drawer system.

To access I just flip the rear seat up and switch on, the hose and inflater are also stored there.

Mounted in front guard, works fine not much noise. Outlet for compressor on bull bar.

How's the ARB twin holding up in the back quarter panel on Joey's mount? Did it do well through the summer heat?

I considered going with the smaller Arb compressor (with the SLEE or homade under hood mount) as a backup to an eventual York compressor system, but with the price points being close I thought I might as well go with an ARB twin (but where to mount).

Anyone else running an ARB and where'd you locate it? I have heat concerns putting in the engine bay and I also have heat concerns behind the rear panel.

Thanks MUD

Reviving this old thread. I recently saw someone added a second battery box to front passenger side of engine bay and then mounted their ARB dual compressor inside of the battery bxo. Has anyone ever done this and perhaps have general instructions for doing so properly?

I just did this using the Slee battery box and washer relocation kit.

I can get pix later but self explanatory once the box was in place. I drilled a center hole in the pump bracket and mounted to the wall of the box opposite the wheel so the air quick connection faces out. Then I store my hose coil and air meter in the box next to the pump.

I plan to eventually put an aux battery in and I'll sort out another fitment for the compressor. I've seen pics with the dual compressor mounted on the box wall behind the headlight and the battery just behind it...dunno seems tight to me and I need access to the quick connection for the air hose..

I did same the plan of using the passenger side battery compartment and installed the compressor on a custom aluminum bracket. I also relocated the radiator water overflow in front of my existing battery. Thus far no issues whatsoever.

I was going to mount mine in the back quarter panel.

One question, is how did yall do the wiring for those of you that placed it in the rear of the truck.

Expensive but this already has holes drilled for the ARB compressors. If you went this route that would be where your power distribution would go
