I was thinking that I would like to run my yakima low rider cross bars and Raptor bike trays off of the upper most rail of a ARB roof rack. they would only take up the rear 50 % of the rack leaving the front for gear. I know the ARB are built very well. Using the rain gutter mounts it will clear the factory roof rack and then I could place the low riders off of the top bar of the ARB. am I making sence? anyone see a problem with this.
me and the ARB.webp

Great looking FJ! The LowRiders are designed for almost any type of bar as you know...so I wouldn't see that as a problem. They'll be pretty high up there..so mounting the bikes on them might be more of a pain..but hey, nothing a good step stool or small ladder can't fix right? ;)

But yeah, the LowRiders will adapt to the ARB side bars on the rack.

It will work, I mounted my huge tent on the top bars of the ARB rack.

Cool guys that is what I thought but it is good to hear it. Now, Anyone got a spare grand so I can actually do it.;) Thanks again.

go on craigslist and find a thule, yakima or other manufacturer plug in hitch rack for the bikes. They stay in the slipstream of the truck, so they dont kill the mileage(as badly)....Also makes loading and unloading easier. I bought my Thule locally for $50.00, and it was practically brand new.

Then you can put more stuff up on the roof.

the hitch mount is not really an option for me as I plan on a 4x4labs dual swing out sometime and it will get in the way of the tire or jerry can /ladder. also I don't like to carry 10K worth of bikes on the back, makes for a very expensive rear ender.:crybaby:
