For those with ARB Freezer/Fridge, are they made somewhere in Asia or Australia?

I heard..... HEARD, that Engel made them for ARB, per ARBs specs... Dunno where Engel is made though.

I think, more important is where the compressor is made. In this case, I believe the Sawafuji compressor on the engel/ARB/norcold is made in Japan. The Waeco uses the German made Danfoss compressor. I believe all those brands I mentioned are assembled in Asia.

This is what I would like to hear. I don't care if the fridge is made elsewhere as long as the compressor/motor is made in Japan, I'm cool with that. But how do we know if the compressor or motor is made in Japan? Does it have a sticker affixed to the motor?

This is from the Engel USA webpage...

"One of Engel's outstanding features is the Engel Swing Motor. The patented Swing Motor, developed and manufactured in Japan, is an electro-dynamic reciprocating device that connects directly to the piston of the compressor."

Technical Details

hoser, that is great to see that the motor is made in Japan. Thanks for the link.

definatly not oz. They are made/assembled in Thailand. I don't know about the motor, it's either japan or thailand. I'm not opening it up to find out. I don't think it matters though. It's a tried a true fridge.
