Thank you Linus, that would be great! Low profile might work better for me. But how strong is that bumper? Do you think you can take a whitetail at 55?

Sorry late followup:

From the center sheetmetal under the grill to the outer rubber pad of my layflat link is exactly 12”.
—So roughly 7” more than a stock bumper if they are ~5” thick going from memory.

The layflat is 1.75” including rubber pads both sides (from Factor 55).
My Hawse is a fairly thin 5/8” offset one (from Slee).
So combined max of 2 3/8” of “poke” over the bumper with the roller fairlead upper ground off.

So even buying a winchless ARB bumper is going to stick out shy 10” (9 5/8” is my exact, but expect small deviation) -from that thin sheetmetal lower of the grill dead center.

—As to amount of protection, I say you’re better off mitigating with the hoop and expect a better chance of saving the radiator & having at least one headlight to “limp home” & no holes in the radiator/leaking coolant -with. If a buck can stuff a few points from its’ rack in the raditor, then it was just bad luck. But at least a doe would have to use a hoof or skull.
—Morbid, but realistic.
But beyond that, the ARB is thin overall compared to some on the market (Slee Shortbus is my favorite that is non-hooped) - but they aren’t a full hoop nor will hold a M12K.

I’ve said it plenty, -if the Slee Shortbus would hold a M12K, I’d fab my own taller hoop. It’s thicker built, as what was mentioned of the wings/endcaps of the ARB can fold easier than the top-tier bumpers.

But a bent ARB you drive home on is still money very well spent IMO. And a winch to at a minimum retrieve yourself or a buddy is smart $$ too.
Esp if snow & your 80 will ever be face-to-face.

HTH.
