when they turn on it should be extremely obvious - they are loud.. you can always unscrew the main hose and turn it on - that will just allow the manifold to vent directly out. should be really obvious.

Is the pressure switch utilized without the manifold kit attached for lockers? I'm just using the compressor manually to attach an air hose and re-inflate my tires after airing down.

Yes, it has to have a pressure switch or it would explode

Okay, I'm ordering a new pressure switch and also a new manifold piece. Both are cheap. I will try replacing them.
