I believe there was a combination of problems, lights, license plate as JTwopark stated, after market radiator, skid plates etc. The pic above is old, I removed the lights, plate, added the thicker oil in the fan clutch and purchased a custom Matson radiator which all help but the best mod I did was air vents in the hood, before the vents, I could feel the heat pore out when I opened the hood. All this started after the SC was installed, which was done by a So Cal LC member who is a certified Toyota/Lexus Mechanic. The SC was brand new in the box.

The problem I was having was when I was on the freeway out in the hotter areas of California, the engine temp would be a bit higher than near my house which is by the coast. Nothing to be over worried about, the AC would turn off which was a bit annoying, but when I hit traffic the temp would jump up do to little or no air flow or if I got too close to the car in front of me. It never over heated when off roading.

Thanks for explaining. That must have gotten pretty hot for it to turn off the air conditioning. Folks have posted the coolant temp before but I think it's around 223 or 227 if my memory serves me correctly.

So you have an ultra gauge? It's a nifty tool to help monitor those things.

When I was having the issue, I purchased an Ultra Gauge. Mine would cut off between 200-205. Runs great now, I do plan to add a small fan with a toggle switch on the front right side of the radiator, next to the trans cooler.

Ah, I may have to freshen up on my numbers. That's interesting that's where it's cut off. I think I've hit those temps before without the lights on the bumper. I guess just an excuse to do some preventative maintenance.

Go for the hood vents. I can feel the heat rushing out from them when the engine is idling.

Luckily, I was able to find a screenshot of the coolant temps as posted previously. Don't know if I would have found it otherwise haha.

nick i like the safari....looks really good with the silver!

i am sorry, kind of off the subject but does any one know if the LED headlight bulbs with the fan fit in the IPF 900xs??..h9 bulbs

6" LED's where the running lights were supposed to go and 28" LED light bar in center.

I like your set up a lot. I was thinking of mounting the 28" light bar upside down on the top part of the ARB bar. I think it will not impede the air flow to the radiator so much. I did not get one yet, so I don't know if my theory is right or wrong.
Regarding the 6" lights inside the bumper, there's no other way of installing them without drilling the bumper?

I was going to mount it like you're thinking but for now I'm happy with it like this. I couldn't figure out another way to mount the 6" LEDs without drilling. I was hesitant as the bumper was brand new but saw no point in having the running lights that are supposed to go there. These light up the sides of the road very nicely and were only $36 for the pair delivered.

Yes but it was simple. Took a flat piece of 2" wide by about 4" long piece of flat 1/8" steel, bent it in an L shape, drilled some holes.

Thanks. I think I got some L-shaped brackets somewhere around here. I'll see if they fit.
I assume you had to cut the tabs too. Is there a need for a relay for the 6" and 28" bars?

Probably not a 'need' but a safe bet to say the least.

Does anyone have a curved light bar mounted to their ARB bumper? If so, how do you like it?

Those warn lights are nice! I know some of their lights are a pretty penny. How do you like the output?
the warn HID's have a good output, definitely take a few seconds to warm up. I just put some rigid led's on my commuter wagon and its true once you go led you wont go back to hid.
