hey guys,

So I am ready to bite the bullet and buy an arb front bumper for my 99 lx470. I have 325/60/18 NTGs with the ahc override system by slee enabling me to drive in high mode all the time to clear the larger tires. Im worried with the extra weight of the new bumper the ahc might cause some problems.

Has anyone had any issues with this before? and if so is there any way to resolve them without removing the ahc?

also I was hoping someone could help me choose the right bumper, I like the look of the combination bar alot but am open to other options, especially if the others are lighter. note: i do not need a winch.

I was at the muffler shop the other day and I met a guy whose car I have seen around town a few times but had never met the owner before. Anyway he has an '07 LX and runs 35" trail grapplers with the slee ahc mod and an ARB bumper. He said he wrenched his TB's to help deal with the extra weight and that everything was fine.

Of course it's worth noting his AHC system is 8 years newer...

IMO you might want to wait until you at least have enough saved for an OME lift to replace the AHC system when it does fail because eventually they do....unless you were planning on having it fixed. I would think the extra weight and driving in hi all the time would shorten its remaining life

hey guys,

yes that was me. pleasure meeting you dallascrzr.

i am going to adjust the AHC sensors to "lift" the front just a bit to level it out. the TB cranking helps with taking the extra load off the system.

the sensor adjustment is real easy, just take the wheels off and slide the nut on the sensor.

I had been wondering about the life of the AHC does anyone know the signs of the system beginning to fail?
