ARB 80 series roof rack fit a 100? (1 Viewer)

Any ideas? It's part #3800010M with the mounting kit, and since I have a 100 and an 80 that I could swap it between for different kinds of trips (camping vs. road trips with the whole family) I was hoping it would work. Anyone have any thoughts or experience?

I think so. The ARB on my 80 had a lot of adjustment for width built into the mounting system...so I would guess it would work nicely.

Actually, I think I've seen a picture of a 100 w/ an 80 rack...

Doesn't the 80 have gutters? The 100 is gutter-less.

I don't know about the ARB.. Check out this thread for the African Outback roof rack.. It shows that the AO rack would fit on both the 100 and 80.. You'd have to get a different fitting kit for the 100 though since it doesn't have a gutter..

Oops, yeah, that'd make a big difference...maybe I'm thinking 80 series to 60 series interchange.

The African Outback rack will switch between an 80 and a 100, but you need the mounting feet for each one individually. I know this only because I helped Derek (dclee) install on his trucks. That is a sweet rack by the way.

Otherwise, I don't see any way that an 80 series ARB rack with it's gutter mount feet, would go on a gutterless 100 series.

I had the 80 series ARB roof rack on my old 80 and now have an ARB rack on my current 100.

Here is what i know:

The racks specifically made for each model are different in size:

3800010M - 2200 x 1250mm (87" x 49") for 80 series (large)
3800020M - 1850 x 1250mm (73" x 49") for 80 series (med)
3800030M - 1100 x 1250mm (43" x 49") for 80 series (small)

3813010M - 1790 x 1120mm (70" x 44") for 100 series

The ARB mounts on the 100 are not adjustable along the length of the vehicle and these have to match up to the roof rack. The rack has a place for the foot to mount that is fixed. The ARB 100 mount is not like the African Outback rack that sits in a channel, which allows for adjustment fore/aft. The lack of adjustment creates the issue.

I do not think the mounts on any of the 80 series racks (S, M, L) will line up with the factory 100 series fixed mounts, otherwise the 100 rack would be similar in length to the medium rack. However, the smaller 100 series rack might work if it is wide enough to fit the 80 series width and gutters - this i dont know. It probably wouldnt be difficult to modify/extend the mounts to make them work.

Maybe you can ask on the 80s board if anyone knows the distance between the 80 series mounts once installed on the vehicle?

Does anybody know what the height of the ARB rack is with mounting kit on the 80 series? I want to buy one but I can't find the height dimensions and I want to make sure it fits in the garage. TIA
