Internal components are very similar on them (compressor and electronics) so i wouldn't discard it if the wheels/reversible lid isn't a big deal; with the right discount the JP can still come out on top as "best bang for your bucks". If same discount/similar prices, then i'd go with newer model for sure (TRs are available at walmart as of recently, which is a sign that they will be around for a while). Although, even when discontinued i don't imagine it will be difficult to get replacement parts and etc for the JP, as there are a ton of them & they share major components with the newer models.

As far as bags go, I have to double check. Most likely i will have 1 price with bag and 1 without bag when i do the price list. Will post when done/when i know for sure.

So far all i have is a draft for the first page; soon I'll work on a separate page to give more details on each series/models, as well as another page that is purely a price sheet. If time allows before it goes live, i will try to make a side by side comparison as well to help some of you decide. So far i am told that the discount will apply to everything, and they will update me if anything is to be excluded from discount; i will update then. I was also told that most of the items from site are in stock/ready to go out day of order, but a few may need up to 2-3 weeks to ship; basically what i expected judging from previous GBs. They said popular fridges like VLs are high stock/fast shipping and some of the less popular stuff are vice versa. If you have strict deadlines it is good to double check/give us a heads up first to make sure.

Again, really appreciate the interest and feedback so far! Thanks!

This is a draft, finals will go on first post/page 1 when done.

@SharpeCat I see a VL60Pro in my immediate future. 25% makes it a deal that I can't pass up.

The code HOBOTECH works.
Thank you for organizing this GB.
Not sure if i am seeing things, but it seems the Code applies the discount but does not show where the discount was applied? I added their entire fridge line-up to my cart, and before code total was a little over $20k and it was a little over$18k after code. So it seems code applied to most things but it doesnt show exactly what it applied to. When i went back and reviewed prices the two list at checkout (after coupon applied and before coupon) were identical, but the total price was about 10% different.

For now i will have to go based on past GBs, and based on the fact that i was told that Pros would be included in the 25%. So i am thinking, same price as previous GBs for mud and take 25% off the website price for Pros. I will try my best to confirm it before everything goes live.

I have not heard a response back as far as allowing a few to do early manual orders, but will keep you guys updated if i do. Please let me know if anyone has any further questions and thanks again for all the interest and feedback!

Code does not work across different platforms, no. It’s been a while, yours was the one that went MIA yeah?
Mine was the one that took a long time to ship and when I received it, it was malfunctioning. Then the back and forward to get the return shipping label.

I made a note on first post @chudly and will keep it there until we find someone for you!

As far as early orders go, no word yet so i assume no go on early orders. For those on a real strict deadline, please order as soon as it is live and then send me your basic info/order number so i can help keep tabs on them. Judging by past GBs, most order took 1-2 weeks to arrive. There were occasional delays/mistakes (@NYC570 and 1 other guy had his fridge sent to wrong address), but for the most part it was 1-2 weeks.

I have noticed that these COVID delays are affecting every industry and are getting worse though, so fingers crossed on that. Luckily for us, i was told that the popular models are well-stocked at the US warehouse in CA/will be free of COVID delays.

Hello Sharpecat. Thank you for staying on this and organizing. If I now have a hard leave date from Boston by the 12th of July should I assume it’s best to not gamble? I’m leaving Boston for SoCal on my first leg of the trip. Would it make more sense to pick it up in CA and save the shipping?

Will we be able to buy the TRs on the group buy? (only asking since they don’t show up on the iceco website, only 3rd party retailers)

I will ask about that, I know members have picked up before so make sure you specify that when ordering or give me your order # and basic info, so I can let LU/Christine know that it’s a pick up. If you are ordering a VL/JP then I’m pretty confident 2 weeks is more than enough time, as those are well stocked.

I was told yes, will have to confirm how to go about that. Possibly manual phone or email orders for that one.

Also, the official price list will have to wait until Tuesday, when it goes live i will have to test each one individually and make the list as i go. It's the only way i can be 100% sure that i am sharing right prices. You guys can also report price you paid here starting on tuesday, as that will save me some time/help me compile list.

The way the site is setup right now, i have to check out 1 at a time to know exactly how much discount applied to that specific item; If i check out everything at once i just see total savings.

If you guys want to know prices before then, then try the hobotech discount for your model and see which price it applied to (sometimes 2 prices listed), and from there you can multiply that by ".75" to see what it looks like after -25%.

I tried it at midnight pacific and no luck yet, code was a little late last time too.

I will announce here and have an official price list as soon as I see that it is live.

@SharpeCat, I was looking at jumping into this group for a GO series and have been watching the prices for the last few weeks. Between last night to this morning they did a price hike from $299 to $309.. not a huge difference, but enough to raise a red flag.

That’s normal as their normal sale (no coupon required) is about that much, and coupon applies to the retail price. There were a couple exceptions in the past when the two stacked and the end result was closer to 30% off, but I think that may have been a fluke and some members got an even sweeter deal than expected. As long as the 25% off works on even the higher of the two prices you mentioned, then the end result will be the best price that I could find.

To me that’s a very good sign, and I hope it means they are double checking everything before rolling out the coupon!

Great eye by the way! Thanks for sharing as well.

The VL I have had in my cart went up from $599 to $609 as well. Certainly not a deal breaker, but it gave me pause as well in principle alone. The truth is, this GB is not a probably not large enough event for Iceco to raise all of their prices to offset our discount. This is probably just a peak of camping seasonal adjustment.

I think so too, as it was very short notice compared to previous GBs. Also, when we had our previous GBs it also collided with similar sales (~3to 5% off), and the small discount actually prevented the larger discount on the slightly higher price. In a few cases it stacked discounts so end result is closer to 30%, but like I said I think that’s a fluke.

Another guess is it’s to ensure that no small current discount will interfere with coupons/bigger discount, but also to protect them from the few cases where the coupon (I believe unintentionally) stacked with the current “on sale/no coupon required” price displayed on site.

I am just waiting a few hours as it is still early on the West Coast, and I’m thinking send him a call or text around lunchtime for an update if coupon isn’t live yet.
