Post up in SoCal 80s, SoCal TLCA and San Diego cruisers, Im gonna be out there on the 1st-3rd.

I went there last spring.... ~600mi (10hrs) to El Centro from where I live in San Leandro...

I went there with my wife & brother in-law. I would do it again. Anza Borrego is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE and there is alot of great wheeling there....

We went south specifically to find the Petroglyphs on 'Indian Hill' We spent 3-4hrs crawling all over the rocks out there and never actually found the site. Maybe you will be more lucky. Google Indian Hill and you will see some cool stuff.

If you have a 60... stay off the 'cross over trail' between the pumpkin patch and the road in the Ocotillo Wells OHV area. I went through it in my 60 and would not do it again. It is designed for Motorcycles and ATVs. There is a serious off-camber curved section that I prayed to god the centrifugal force of the curve we were on would see me through and not let me slide off into the ditch.... Maybe others have experienced what I am talking about

Some inspiration attached....

#2 - Cruiser at the top of the Calcite mine trail
#3 - View of the badlands

It is a very cool place. Different from Death Valley but it feels just as large. The northern end of the park near borrego springs is also very different from the southern end near the MX border (lots of border patrol down there)... The best thing about the border patrol - they asked me if my Yakima 'clam shell' was a CANOE??? I don't know what these guys were thinking but what the %%%% would I be doing with a canoe in the desert.

BTW - at the southern end the park butts up to BLM land. We got into the BLM section and there were roads everywhere going criss cross all over the place. It was very confusing. We did not have a BLM map for the area but I would get one if you are going to venture out down there.

Ed, talk to Spike Strip.;)

I have never been out to Calico (if you are referring to the place out by Barstow) but Anza Borrego still ranks very high on my 'must do' California list...

I guess I should check out Calico for one of my next SoCal trips...
