70 series semi-float rear axle. Reduced to. $500 OBO $750 OBO. I’m in the Seattle area but will be driving to San Diego in May and could arrange delivery along the way.

?, is the 70 series diff same axle splines, bearing size, pinion size as the 40 series 9.5's ?

The third from the SF 40 will go into the SF 70. The bearings should be the same, as the same rear axle SF rebuild kit will work for any 40/55/60/70 rear axles. The 70 axle is around and inch or so wider in track width so I'm not sure if the 40 axle shafts will be long enough, but this 70 axle comes with the shafts.
