Anyone with an 06 remove the spoiler?

I know there's a thread on the regular spoiler, but this is the one with the integrated taillight.

I see that there's a panel on the upper tailgate that would perfectly fit the taillight when removed from the spoiler.

I was wondering the same thing a while back as it does look easily removable. Some days I like the thing and other I don't. As far as functionality, I'm not very impressed as it doesn't push the air down as well as I think it should.

What is your reason for removing?

2 reasons:

1) I'm carrying a canoe on top this weekend, and it will severely limit my opening

and

2) it looks sequoia-esque

I had mine removed from my 04. It had the integrated tail light as well. I had to plug the holes, repaint the top, and install a new light. to get access to the upper tail gate brake light plug, the inner plastic frame had to be removed. I've driven around for a while with rubber plugs covering the holes with no problem. Some people here cover the holes with stickers.

you can check for the screws holding the tail gate by removing these covers.
