I have been hearing ads for a fairly afforable home security system called
Lasershield. I'm looking for a basic system for my Dad's cabin in Wyoming.
Being that he won't always be there, I'm wondering if we need to put a system
of some sort in. Being from California, we are legitamately paranoid having been cleaned out a couple times, guns included. Are we overreacting? Wyoming is not California but once you have been hit hard....you NEVER
forget it.

I am about an hour south of the wyo border, I could check on the place for you.

My family's cabin was cleaned out of all the old antiques, navajo rugs, arrows, and even a freaking franklin stove. We just replaced everything with worthless stuff. There is an alarm on the place, but all it does is make noise. We also have a guy that drives by the place about once a week.

Thank you for the offer. This cabin is close to Sheridan and we do have a friend/neighbor about 1 mile
away. It is on a gravel county road. I think a security system that lets me know something is wrong can't hurt. We have a quality gun safe bolted to the garage floor. I'm just paranoid that someone could
break in, make themselves at home, and then load up some damn nice electronics and furniture or worse just thrash the place. I am really butting heads with my Dad on this one. He thinks it is not
necessary. 15 years ago I had my ENTIRE house cleaned out. That even included clothes, kitchenware
and furniture. It must have taken them 2hrs and a U-haul truck to do it. He hasn't had this experience.
Not to badmouth Wyoming either, it's just that there will be 1or 2 mos at a time when nobody will be there. ADT might be a good idea...I use them and am happy so far.
