Lost my tax guy this year. My taxes should be uber simple just a w2 and interest on mortgage. Debating on trying them myself.

Been using TurboTax for years. It's a great program that is simple to use; just make sure you put everything in. I left out one of my investments and ended up dealing with an IRS audit 2 years ago. The audit was painless, though, and was resolved pretty quickly. I don't see why folks get their panties in a wad about IRS audits - it really was an easy process.

Have been using turbo tax for a couple of years, after realizing my tax guy had me bent over his desk. Super simple to do. If you can get a digital copy of your W2, you can upload it into TurboTax and it does most of the work for you.

Did them today. Seemed easy enough was done in less than an hr. W2 was digital so that helped greatly.

It really is easy, it is all about the fear of doing something wrong and the wrath of the IRS.

Same. Some of our have been complicated due to moves and living overseas but TurboTax covers the bases pretty well. ONe year we had our tax guy do the taxes and the wife checked them with TT. The numbers were so close it was a no brainer to dump the accountant and save his fee.

The magic is the consecutive years. Just log in and everything you had to fill out the hard way the first time updates to the new form. Just update any changes. If your income and financial institutions are connected, all this info gets imported too. Most major banks can be imported and many payroll systems.
