I'm planning to have them lengthen my front Drive Shaft.
They seem like a pretty good shop, they do lots of big rigs.

I may get them to relocate my front shckle hangers to fix my shackle angle after doing the Shackle Reversal.

Any recommendations?

Thanks
Dave

I've heard some people at my work talking about a place over behind the lowes at virginia beach/military hwy area. Might be that place

not sure about the drive shaft but Flatlanders in Norfolk should be able to do the hanger for you. its mostly a hot rod shop but they do offroad stuff also. i know the owner if you want his info

There is a driveshaft shop at Raby Road, near Military Highway at Janaf Intersection. There is also another drive shaft place at Military Highway and Providence Road.

Yeah sure, Spring Menders on Raby said the spring mt move would be about $150.
Wouldnt mind another option

Thanks

Lifts installed, Tube work, bumpers, sliders, gears and lockers.
Quality custom fab work that's built to your specs.

The owners name is Aaron, we call him A-Ron. Tell him that Beau told you to call

I had custom long travel double cv joint shafts built by Delmarva in chesapeake off Volvo Parkway. Nice work, fair price.

I've heard spring menders IS good .... BUT I use Joe Gibbs at Bullet Driveline, he owns and runs the shop, just himself, and does basically anything you want. He's doing my 5.38 gear, ARB, and Dynatrac installs in the super duty soon, but I have been using him for years ....

Great guy .. 757-424-2300

any updates on this Dave?

Not yet, Ive been on hold with the weather(and funds)

I did a shackle reversal on the front which gave me the lift and flex i was looking for,
But the new shackles are at a 90 deg angle and the ride is bad.

So I need to get the hangers moved, or longer springs.

I need to do this before the Drive Shaft because that distance will change with the new shackle angle.

You can kinda see the bad angle here. (ignore the arrows)

Heres the DS at full droop, no shocks. Its about a 1/2" from popping out.

mmmmm .. that is bad. One big flex and POP, there goes that shaft ....

Dave, that is not just bad but very dangerous to drive. You don't want that driveshaft separate on you while driving:steer:. That shaft can flip your cruiser if it falls off, scary thought. Be careful with that thing, get it fix asap if it is your DD.

Not as bad as it looks
This is at full droop with no shocks, and swaybar removed.

It is fine on the road, unless i do a Dukes of Hazard jump.
Even then, both shocks would have to fail.

Moving the rear hangers will get the shackle angle corrected and lower the front a bit.
Then I can recheck the DS and get it lengthened properly.

Thanks

Dang that is bad. That reversal is a bolt on or what? Seems like they could have had you mount it farther back.

Yeah it is bolt/weld on.
The problem is that the OME shocks are a bit short, making the new shackle in the rear come up short.

I like the OMEs so I will move the mount vs new springs.

Thanks
Dave
