I've been trying to find a way to mount aux lights on a mere car and finding a challenge as to any hard points. I noticed companies selling a mount that amounts to a metal plate that attaches to your front license plate mounts and then has tabs for the aux lights. Seems like they'd be OK with a smaller light like I'm using, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has done this and what result?

Thanks,
Doug

That looks like it'd rattle like a mad man...

it is an interesting idea .. and sure it will depends on the weight of the light you are planning to use .. are the plate bolts strong enough ? ( are M4 .? can't remember right now .. )

When I first got my truck and wanted to light up the woods I ran into the same problem. I took a 2' section of 2"x2" angle iron and drilled two holes in it to mount to the license plate bracket, like a shelf, and 3 holes on top to mount lights vertical. I’ve had it on for 4 months now and it’s still holding up. It does shake when you hit manholes and potholes but for normal driving conditions, it’s pretty stable and at a very useable height. It’s a cheap easy was to get a couple more lights on. Overall, its good for small lights.

Ignore it being bent, SMORR tried to bite.

You can see the bumper bracket, the angle iron and the plate sandwhiched up.

The shelf I was talking about.

I think if you do it right, it looks good.
