Is it something to take on at home or just pay the price for a professional install?? From the looks of things it does not seem to be a big issue; however, I have never attempted a cat back system install.

Thanks

i brought mine to a hole-in-the-wall exhaust shop in bronx, ny. paid 85 dollars i think it was and the guy had it done in 15mins...no joke. Havent had a problem since i put it on back in december 05.

Put a Borla system on a non-Toyota vehicle couple years ago. It was harder to get the old system off than the new system on. Ended up cutting off the old. The other issue was shortening the tailpipe so the end didn't stick out and look like crap. Overal it was real easy but I wasn't too pleased with the sound...Liked the sound of the Magnaflow muffler on my other rig better. Not sure what the Landcruiser sounds like though.

Laid underneath the car, looked at all the stuff under there and immediately headed to the local Midas shop. They are pulling the LC in now. Hopefully they will do good work, as they seem to be rather knowledgeable on this exhaust system. Wish me luck!:flipoff2:

Borla tip and trailer hitch opening

Midas guys wanted to cut a notch in the trailer hitch where the muffler tip exits. After looking it over, we were able to fit the tip through; however, it is tight against the hitch. I this going to cause a problem down the road or have others done the same with no problems?

Thanks

mine fit in there just as snug. You might get a littttttle vibration down the road but very little. Causes no problems except for a little peeling on the tip. Enjoy it.

Took the trailer hitch off yesterday and found the vibration was greatly diminished. Now I am left with the dilemma of how to get the hitch back on with out the Borla tip rubbing against the opening. Any ideas how to accomplish this? I have also sent an email to Borla for some advice. LC does sound slightly throatier and seems to have better pickup. Installed the Dice adapter last night, very nice.

how much do you use the tow hitch? If its very rare and you only tow 5000lbs worth of stuff, you could opt for doing the hitch within the bumper that came stock on some of the later models. You would have to put a little plate on each time you wanted to use it, but it would solve the tow hitch problem.

Great idea. I will look into it. Use the trailer hitch to haul MTN bikes so it does not need a 5000 lb rating!! I may also look into having a buddy of my do some cutting around hitch opening to allow the exhaust to get through. Will post pics if it works!

Thanks

So how do you like the sound?

Sounds nice and throaty, more like how a V8 should sound. Very nice mod!

Interesting... I think mine sounds pretty timid...

By the way, we're (GCLCs) are going to Paragon on the 31st for a mild trail ride / club meeting. I see you're a PA person and it might be a close ride for you.

Come on out for some nice trails and break in that Borla!

We've got a nice mix of stockers and classics doing some mild blue trails.

Maybe even 1LOUDLX may show up...

can you get a recording? I always wondered how my truck would sound with just the Borla.

Macneill, this highway flyer doesnt venture off the asphalt unless its covered in snow.
