4 wheel parts warehouse has a great buy 3 get 1 free deal on wheels in the subject line. These are for a 77' 40 with factory discs up front. $180 something shipped! 4wheel parts actually put my order on hold and called me to say they won't fit, so I've been digging for hours in search of an answer. So far the threads that I've come across, nobody has gotten back to verify their experience for certain.
I've got the backspace figured out. I'm hitting the TRE boot with a 4" BS aluminum rim and a 1/4" spacer(3.75 BS). The wheels in question are 3.75 and minus the 1/4" spacer (3.5 BS) I have should give me the clearance I need.
Some have posted that they had to grind the caliper down, some have not had to. 4wheel parts wants to sell me the same wheel, customer ordered with 2.5" BS for an extra $14 a wheel + five weeks to make them. I'm literally crunching every penny these days and don't want to run an extra inch BS if I don't need to. Please post your experiences and year of your 40 please!
