thinking about going 31s on a 7" rim, but I wonder if that is too skinny? Tire would be 235 85R 16 on a 16" wheel. Anyone have a pic?

so a 285/75r16? about how wide of a tire? if you're running a 31x13x16, it's too narrow. if you're running a 31x10.5, it's fine.
I believe 285's have a width of 11.3"

Here's a photo of a 235/85 R16 tyre on a standard split rim which is just 5 1/2" wide. (Just 5 and a half inches between tyre-bead outer edges.)
PS. From what I remember, the tyre manufacturer doesn't recommend such a skinny rim (as 5 1/2") but I have found this set-up to be fine.
