I’m curious to see if anyone is running 275/70/18 Ridge Grapplers with stock suspension. I know that KO2 in this size fit without rubbing but Nitto apparently runs a bit larger in some of their tires.

I've been running 275/70r18 ridge grapplers on my 2008 with stock suspension since October with no issues. Maybe a slight rub once while reversing over something. Love the tires and will probably buy another set once these wear down.

Cool! Mind posting a pic or two? I’m trying to decide between 275/70 and 285/65 in the ridge grapplers.

Not the best pictures but maybe they will help.

Looks good! Do you have OEM front coil spacers installed? Also, how are these on the highway (noise & ride)? The speed rating of 99mph vs stock Dunlops concerns me a bit even though I’m usually an “under the limit” driver. Haha

No spacers. Completely stock. I think the noise and ride on the highway are excellent for an aggressive AT tire. A LOT quieter than the Duratrac tires I had on a previous vehicle. The speed limit does not bother me as the cruiser is certainly no sports car and never sees those speeds in my driving.

I think I’ll go with the RG over KO2s. Same price. The KO2 has a speed rating of 106 vs RG 99. Not sure how that will affect handling at higher speeds (75-85 mph) but I doubt the difference in rating will make a difference.

Great timing on this post. Due to replace the current Michelin Latitudes with an AT tire as we take the LC on the beach weekly in the summer. Like the looks of the Nittos. How’s the noise at highway speed as our LC is also the kid’s travel sports vehicle and my daily driver?

I just mounted a set in 275/70R18 on reman stock 2013 wheels ($170 ea, plus Schrader Easy Sensors $60 ea)

There is plenty of clearance, the tires are half an inch narrower than the Cooper P rated tires that were on the truck when I bought it. I have been running the same 33.2 inch size tires over the winter on my original wheels, and I am now set up where one snow tire will serve as a summer spare and one Nitto will be the winter spare. The OD and tread width of the Ridge Grapplers are identical to the Hakkapellitta LTs, so the speedo is happy (1 mph slow) and I don’t have to worry about a smaller spare or having to keep five snow and five summer tires. I only need four of each.

There is a full index fingers clearance with the mudflap.

I haven’t driven on the Nittos enough to get a feel for them. They are a little loud compared to the snow tires, but it is by far the least obnoxious sounding aggressive tire I have ever owned. I am looking forward to testing them on loose pea gravel. They look like they will grip well and not throw a bunch of rocks.

Thanks to REZolution's post and results, I too just installed 275/70/18 RG's on OEM rims. Added 1 inch all around at 38 psi. 2017 LC completely stock and zero spacing/rubbing issues.

Glad I found this thread. I’m looking at the same tires. How’s the ride quality on the E rated tires?

Bumping this thread for some more input--had been originally planning on 285/65's, but the extra height and noticeably lower price of the 275/70s seem like a winner (even sacrificing the ~1/2" width). I've gone back and forth on KO2's vs Ridge Grapplers because I've loved my current KO2's, but just feel like trying something new. A few comments on other threads mentioned the RGs were more quiet on the road too and it looks like weight is less than 1lb difference between similar sized KO2's and RG's. I know a lot of people have stated no rubbing, but I assume that is around town. What about once you take it off pavement and get a little flex in the suspension?
