Anyone running 255/80R17 on their 200 series?

I've seen the pics of bjowett's rig with the 255/80R17 tires on it. Anyone else running that tire size? ANy feedback on performance - positive or negative?

I think the biggest issue is the tire is 1.5" narrower than the stock tire. I run a tire that's 0.5" narrower than stock (and 1.5" taller) on my LX 570, and that's about as narrow as I'd like.

I am thinking that i will go with 285/70R17 on Rock Warrior wheels .

Yep that's the safe and proven route. It's an ideal choice for the LC.

285/70r17 would be a much better choice.

My 2 cents, but 255 would be seriously under tire-ing the rig. To the extent that braking and cornering would be greatly impacted.

Not to cause any flare ups with this thread again, but following up on this thread and if any users have done this. I know it will make an LC 200 look really offset, but any picks or other links on i8mud or other forums? Was thinking about a 32"ish tire at or around a 10.5-10.8" thickishness, yeah, my metric conversion sucks, but would like to fit a narrower tire on mine possibly...

That's another tire that I would consider if I was running stock, but I'm going to be rocking the 17 TRW wheels and was looking for a tire that's around 33" and <11" and runs 17s. I need to poke around on that tire database for what people are running with the 17s, but was curious as to the what the skinny tires look like. I understand the 255/80 R17s will look seriously narrow, but was curious as to what one does look like regardless as I've never seen them on a rig. I tried searching @bjowett but shoot it can get tough when limited for time with so many other things going on.

255 tire is stock on some "poverty" trims elsewhere. Forget the aspect ratio but if you search you'll find references/pictures.
