I've read the review that was on the front page here at ih8mud and it peaked my interest, I was curious if anyone here has used them and what their thoughts are. Reading the stuff on pitbull's web page they say that they ride better on the road than other compairable tires. Does anyone know how true that statement is?

I just bought my fj60 that came with some 35 by 15.5" super swampers. The problem that I have with them is between 35 to 45 mph I get what my friend calls the death wable. Has anyone had this problem? I haven't had the tires balanced yet and I don't know how much that will help. When I get new tires I want to get some that don't have this problem and I am considering the Pitbulls.

How are all your steering components. Fronaaxle last rebuild when? Search on death wobble you should find a good bit of info. good luck.

post some pics of that cruiser. 15.5 is a very wide tire on a 60!

As a side note I think that the FJ60 buggy that was on Extreme 4x4 TV show this past weekend (being discussed below) was running pitbull tires.

Woody runs Pitbulls. So does Denny Mann (as seen on Xtreme). I think Denny is a dealer too so I could hook you up with his #. They are both pretty happy with them. I haven't heard much about them on the road though. Maybe Woody will chime in.

35 x 15.5 Swampers are most likely SX's...and big bias monsters....guaranteed to DW on any rig....balancing will help, tightening up your trunion bearing preload a little will help (remove the thinnest shims maybe...), a little more caster will help, a little more toe will help, and a steering stablilizer (aftermarket) can help mask it too.

Sadly, ANY bias wide tire will wobble....I don't care who's they are. Mine don't, and are unbalanced, but I have hydro assist to mask it.

I you are truely concerned with wobble, switch to a 12.5w radial tire....

I had 38.5 SX's on my FJ40 and the PB's are much improved in the traction department. They are "better" on the road, but that's all relative to what a high void wide bias tire should be...lol
