If so, would like to see what you've done. On my list of things to do.

Thanks!

I did buy an Ramount. This is a picture found in the web, because I dint find an own picture. It is heavy duty - served me well though many offroad kilometers through africa, iceland and more...

Thanks... so just bolted to the seat mount and it's not shaky? I think you probably used the 18" piece?

I didn't actually mount it, but an iPad mini fits perfectly over the bottom part of the console using the case to stand it up. I've done this a few times for trips. Sorry, this wasn't much help...just wanted to say that the mini would fit really well.

Thinking of using a type of mount like that to put in a Cobra 29 CB. Now that steenh mentioned about mounting to the seat mount... This might be a go.

Looked at the Ram Mount site. There is one that works with the cup holder... really wonder if that is an option that is feasible? Kind of skeptical but would be nice to have something portable to take into another truck... I know I have cup holders to spare in my 40 :)

Figured I'd follow up on this. I got the ram mount with the seat bracket. It was pretty shaky for my taste. Fine on road, but rattled over any bumps. A friend of mine used some stuff called "Sugru" which is plastic material that comes in the form of silly putty that hardens to solid plastic. I used that to "fasten" the mount to the center console. Now that I look at the picture, I could have done a better job of smoothing it all out, but it's covered by the seat, and honestly I couldn't tell in the light of day. The mount itself is tight as a drum now!

I did this.

Originally, I was going to go with the podholdr.com bracket, but decided against it.

I'm very happy with this install as it doesn't move at all, is out of the way, provides passenger with view, and the line of sight is perfect. Ultimately, I want to integrate an Apple lightening connector into the CD changer connector on the rear of the head unit and do away with the cassette adapter.
