Anyone particularly happy with their gas grill?

In the market for a gas grill. We use natural gas and have gone with different grill manufacturers varying from the bottom feeders to the supposed "top end".

Best we've had so far was the Australian sunshine grill that lasted a while. We currently have a Charmglow and it is a total piece of crap. The grates are rusted to hell and splitting, leaving metal chunks on food we cook. The regulator for one of the burners is jammed on high and the sparker is dead.

Needless to say we're in the market for a new one but they've been so hit and miss in the past and we end up replacing them like every 4-5 years that I'm curious if anyone is bowled over about their grill.


I think this time we're just going to the hardware store and getting whatever fits the space best unless someone has something to say about a killer grill. And do me a favor and spare extolling the virtues of charcoal over gas; I know it tastes better but it's inconvenient and not an option on a covered porch.

Weber E-310 Genesis picked up at Home Depot $499.00. Gave my 11 year old Weber to a buddy. He fixed the flexing frame and all is well. Excellent customer service excellent construction.

I've been using a Home Depot special (can't remember the brand but it's one of the common mid-low end ones) for 10 years now. Sparker died long ago outside, but that's not a problem.

Weber Summit. All stainless parts. Not from the box store. It is built into my outdoor kitchen that is not covered. No cover on the grill. Exposed for past 3 years. NO rust. Works as well as day one. Used at least once a week if not more. Cleaned inside once and internals were in outstanding shape. I would buy again in a heartbeat.

yep, no love. But no biggie, just use a long lighter, it really isn't that big of a deal.

I went inexpensive and got a Brinkman with the side burner 2 years ago for 199.00. I've never owned a propane/gas grill and this one works great. No complaints here. One word of advice on any grill, buy a brass wire brush to clean the grates. This will not damage the grates as typical wire brushes will.

got a stainless steel Tuscany model (forgot make) from Costco 2 or 3 years ago. Body great but burners and cover tents all rusted to pieces. Too early for that and company wants to nickel and dime us. Was a lot of hardware for the $ though.

I'd go with a used Weber next time. Reviews on those are generally outstanding.

Love my Weber. Got my last one off the side of the road. It worked great with replacement burners. Then the wife bought me a new Genesis for Father's day. I'm never doing a cheap grill again.

Jenn Air natural gas, six burner, stainless, side burner, back IR burner. Very good and easy to clean.

Weber Genesis fits pretty neatly into the price range, though it seems like there's no real way to get a deal on these grills.

I have a Vermont Castings which has served me well for the last 5 years. Use it twice a week in the winter, 3 times a week in the spring and fall and nearly every day in the summer. I should get some new burners for it though.
