Anyone know if Blue Lakes trail is open?

I can't figure out what is what on the El Dorado forest web site. Are the trails open on hwy 88 or are they still closed? Thanx in advance, L.B.

It's tough to get a straight answer about that... I hear that it is not open, but that no one is enforcing the closure. Their current route map shows it as closed.

Strawberry pass is supposed to be closed too, but I know someone who strung them together last year without any issues.

Anyone have any links on the ongoing court issues?

Pretty confusing, but it sounds like Strawberry and Deer Valley are still on the 'bad' list.

The Deer Valley trail is still closed. How strictly that is enforced I don't know. What I do know is that is the Hi-Lo's Poker Run trail and we have chosen another trail for our Poker run. I don't advise using that trail as it will certainly be used against us in the ongoing litigation.

Thanks for your cooperation. We are hopeful that the trail will reopen in the future.
