My mechanic is a bit eccentric, temperamental, and secretive. I can talk to him and see if he is taking on new clients. He's typically pretty busy and not interested in taking on new work.
I actually think it happened on the first rock face on the way to Top of Daniel. I tried to climb a section of rock face w/o luck. I recall there was a lot of rock meeting metal.

The one picture he sent me is on my phone, but the spring looks pretty bad and I trust my mechanics judgement. There is the spring that mounts inside the shackle and then there is the spring that runs underneath it. That spring juts out and curves around just outside of the shackle. There should be a bit of a gap. That spring is completely jammed up inside the shackle. I've already ordered a new one from Dobinsons. It actually wasn't too much $$
Left turn signal day. Never seen so many newbies. Go 10 feet real slow, stop, block trail and take pictures. All types of vehicles. And never seen so many 30 day tags on brand new jeeps. Had a blast and passed most groups. The broken spring on the 62 was crazy. Wheel was sitting 3 to 4 inches back.
