Turbo-diesel 60 (13BTJ60) For Sale

Two years after the swap I'm ready to do another one but there's no way my wife will let me have two cruisers. I'd like to try an 1HD-T 80 swap next, which means I've got to sell the 60. Here are the specs:

1987 FJ60 (Light Brown)
13BT direct injected turbo-diesel (purchased from G&S in 2005)
H55f five speed transmission
Dual battery set-up with Painless Wiring isolator
Shimmed waste-gate (6mm)
Stock suspension
eDead interior

Vehicle has roughly 275K, motor/tranny have ~70K miles

The truck, as you can see, is pretty clean. No rust, clean body and interior, well-kept. Not perfect, but if anyone was interested in a low budget aesthetic restoration this would be a great start. I've got 13K asking $10,000. A couple pics

browndog -

Is this rig for sale? If not, we'll need to move this thread to a different section. If it is for sale, please clarify your price. I'll be happy to change the master thread title for you -- feeler threads are not allowed.

Thanks for your help.

Bend, Oregon.

MoJ--sorry. Didn't mean to push the rules. The rig is definitely for sale. Asking $10K/obo. Serious offers only.

Nice rig. PM'd ya...

Still for sale?

How is the 13BT/ H55f five speed combination for both slow speed crawlin and highway cruisin? Do you have stock axle gears?

I'd say that's certainly a fair price, especially in our greeny state. If I didn't have two already, and my wife would let me, I'd buy it for 10k.

Anyone want to buy a couple 60s, a rusty but strong BJ and a mostly clean FJ, so I can help out BrownDog here? ;)

I have seen it

I used to live in Bend, OR and have seen this in person, definetely very very clean. I would by it if I had the 10k. I am the guy you met outside of wild oats with the Bj70

Hey folks:

Thanks for all the interest. I've had one local person drive it and like it but he's gotta find the cash. Sounds like the rest of us, eh?

This rig is still for sale. I've had a lot of bites from mudders but no firm commitments. 10K is a lot of money for a 20 year old rig, but you couldn't build this rig for close to that at this point. Clean frame, clean body, clean interior, turbo-diesel. I figure I could sell the rig with any motor for $4000 easy and the motor/tranny for $6000 easy, so I think this is more than a fair price. Now that my tuff duck seat covers are on I'll be showing it locally. If it is still around in two weeks it goes on ebay (10K reserve).

I'll answer a few questions here:

Motor/tranny question--I've not used this rig for rock crawling, but I can tell you that it does very nicely on the highway. Stock gears.

Fan shroud--I had a custom fan shroud built--it tapers down from the stock shroud to 1 1/2 inches all the way around the fan. Works great.

I've been calling and email the local emissions folks here in Phoenix to see what kind of problems they would throw at me it I turned up with a "sold with a gas engine but now has a diesel engine" rig but so far no one can give me a solid answer. If I hear that I won't have a problem with emissions I shoot ya a PM.
