I’ve got a call into Wagner’s recycling on an om606 engine and wondering if anyone’s near there IF it’s still in the car and can be started up to verify miles/idle etc. If so I’d like to hire a mudder to do a swingby just to verify mileage and a clean start/idle , visual for leaks etc. if anyone nearby might be interested. ??

It's maybe two miles from my house, closer for @Fort Knox but they don't let you into the yard to look at vehicles, let alone start them. Did they say they'll allow someone into the yard to do this?

What Johnny said is correct. I'm only about a mile from there, but it's not a u-pull-it type of yard. I've never asked, but I doubt they will let customers go out into the yard and tinker with stuff.

Wierd....not sure who is going to buy a $2000engine without some sort of confirmation that it’s not blown etc. maybe they have a video or compression numbers, etc. willl be curious what they say

It seems they’ve been in business since 1973....so they must be doing something right

I’ve been there once thinking it was a pick and pull. They’ve got some high dollar junk cars. They came running out after me as I was browsing their inventory. Got a quote on a part that ended up being close to new price.

I imagine they serve the body shop crowd who could care less how much a replacement door costs if insurance is paying for parts.
