I am running the Rancho RS9000 Leveling coils up front and Rancho 9000 adjustable and currently running the rear with the OEM air bag. I am doing so in order to eventually run a safari rack and still park in my older non-standard garage. However, I will eventually change the air bags to springs.
The Rancho # are for the FJCruiser/4Runner.
RS999913=Driver's Side. and RS99914 is the Front Passenger side. I am very happy with the fronts. I am Running the shock adjustment, front and rear, in the middle setting and they are slightly firmer than Sport mode. The 9000 Ranchos also handle my 31.7 heavy Duratracks MUCH better that the Lexus adjustable.
The front raised 2" and now is JUST slightly higher than the rear. The 31.7 tires did rub at hard lock especially when backing and now clear perfectly. The truck, to me, looks perfect with the airbags in the lifted mode but reverts to normal once up to driving speed.
I have ordered new rear springs from Coil Spring Specialties but they are not completed at this point. They will be based on the FJ Cruiser rear springs. The OEM FJ cruiser springs will add +5-.75 over OEM 4Runner springs I have read here. I ordered the custom springs with +.5 "trim height" (spring speak for lift*) with a "variable" (spring speak for Progressive*+12% load capacity. This should allow for a more OEM ride when not loaded. The +.5 should give me about a 1.0 to 1.25 total lift in the rear and should be perfect for me to run a moderate lift and still get in my garage. I will give an update when completed.
* Coil Springs Specialties are good to work with BUT they speak in Coil Spring language. For example: If you ask for a progressive spring with a .5 lift and additional 100 lbs load weight it will need to be translated. Also, they will need to know if it is a "Reduce to Pig Tail or a Squared and Ground Coil" to use with the Metal Tech Coil Spring Conversion. Translation: My springs were ordered as OEM FJCruiser based (Toyota Part# 4823135321 Rt and Lt) Reduced to Pig Tail, Adaptive Coil, with +.5 Trim Height and +12% load capacity. This did take some time to get straight.
