Hoping those who have swapped out suspensions would be able to help.

I bought OEM LC shocks to swap out my LX with AHC. The shocks only came with the rubber bushings and nuts, no metal retainers.

Every part diagram that I've looked at says that the metal retainers come with the shock, but I was told that they don't?

Anyways, I'm hoping some of you that have swapped out your stock stuff to lifted parts may have your stock retainers laying around??? If anyone could help out, that would be great.

I have 3. Just switched rear shocks from OEM to OME. The 4th seems to have disappeared. Not exactly a complete solution but you are welcome to them if nobody comes up with a whole set. They are in good shape. PM me an address and I can drop them in the mail.

this is what I've got - the dirty one still has a bushing stuck to it but I'll take that off.

Anyone else happen to have some laying around? 3 down, 13 to go. I'm willing to send some money for these...

The OEM shocks I got came with bushes but not washers. Call Sam at Lowe Toyota (number on the vendor list here). May be faster that way.

couldn't you just use some conical washers? something like this:

seems like they would work just fine in this application. i also don't see how a standard washer wouldn't work either.

That's who I ordered my shocks through. Quote was $114 for retainers, which is why I'm looking for someone who has their stock ones just sitting around.

Seriously? Four OEM shocks were around $130 from Sam, so its a bit of a shock [sorry] that the retainers are $114. Call Sam and check that there's no confusion about the part numbers.
Alternative: Try cruiserdan and other breakers or lift shops that are likely to have a box of them on the shelf.

Yeah, I was thinking... $20-$30 for them... nope...

As stated above, how about using some HD standard washers? Issues?

Find some used ones. Its not a wear part [provided they are not too rusty]. Wire wheel cleans them up nicely.

They have a lip that engages in the shock mount hole. Would imagine positioning issues, bushing noise, and wear would result from regular washers, just my 2 cents...

^ THIS! Get the proper parts.

You might want to double check that. I think (but not sure) retainer #1 (90948-02173) comes in a pack of 4 and retainer #2 (90948-02184) comes in a pack of 2. Buying $113 worth might yield a lot of extra parts!

The shocks can be ordered as an Assy which includes all the hardware: EXCEPT THE STEEL HATS

48511-69625 - Fronts PNC 48510/20

48531-69835 - Rears PNC 48530/40

Something has gone wrong here...

The PNC 485xx is the entire Assy.

Don't think so. Look again. The "assembly" only includes the parts pointed to with the lines. Notice that it's not boxed all the way around all the parts? When I've bought OEM shocks, they've only come with 3 bushings and a nut - just what's being indicated in the "assembly".

Re-gurderian is right, I'm afraid. I ordered the 48510/48520 assys which were shocks, bushes and upper nut. Had I known that the bushing washers were not included I would have ordered them too. Mine were crusty and took some time to clean up.
