Anyone have these laying around?

One last attempt to find these

Anyone done any spring cleaning and find these in a box, under the counter, in the corner, under a rag?

Just an idea.... Have you called Slee, Metal Tech or ACC? Any shop that does installs might have plenty of these laying around. Every time someone upgrades from OEM suspension, those shocks+hardware go right in the garbage. Worth a shot to make a few phone calls.

One more go around with the search. Has anyone done a swap lately? Anyone find some? I'm still on the hunt.

I just got the rear driver side shocks out, and the metal retainer is rusted and in pretty bad shape. Kinda surprised me because the front retainers was still in decent shape.

I know this is a long shot here, but thought I would ask if anyone has these retainers laying around. Apparently these are pretty pricey - I did a quick search and its like $10 a piece. I need 8 of them for the rear shocks.

Thanks
Chris

Does anyone have the part numbers for the rear retainers? Some diagrams show 3 different retainers and some show 2. This is for a 99, thanks.

I dont have any extra laying around but,

I have a 2001 LC, no AHC. Part numbers for rear shock retainers I have found are:

90948-02170
90948-02173
90948-02184

The crack pot that installed my rear shocks left me with one retainer each side, so I have been looking for these items also. Due to that I have no idea which retainer goes where and which ones I actually needed. Hopefully this can be easily figured out once I get all the retainers and cut my 1 1/2" hole for easy rear shock access.

When I inquired with the parts department of a Toyota dealership "Im trying to get parts for my rear shocks have a question about retainers. Do I need six 90948-02173 or six 90948-02184 retainers? I already have two 90948-02170 retainers and four cushions. Would I need anything else? Thanks."

I was told "To do both sides, you'll need 4 of the 90948-02173 and 2 of the 90948-02184. There also 4 cushions in the same area and there are a total of 4 for both sides, part number is 90948-01064."

I have a follow up question to them due to I was under the impression I needed 8 retainers total for the rear and he only indicates six, but maybe he didnt mention the (2) 90948-02170 retainers because I said I had those.

If anyone has a photo of correct retainer setup for rear shocks on a 2001 LC, id appreciate it.

I don't have a photo but i can tell you how i stacked and installed mine, i could not find a good diagram either but your part numbers are correct for my 99 according to the dealer.

I stacked 2173 nipple down against the shock body then a cushion then 2170 nipple up, pushed that through the mount then installed 2184 nipple down then a cushion then another 2173 nipple up then the locknut finger tight. After all that is in place i compressed the shock and slipped it over the lower mount and install the bolt. Then wiggle the shock around to be sure the nipple seated in the mounting hole up top. I held the locknut in place with a open end wrench while tightening the shock with a strap wrench until it stopped. This totally sucked and I ate about a pound of rust and dirt while doing it. Hopefully the access hole your drilling will help alleviate some of the pain, it sounds like a good idea to me.
