Anyone have experience using Precision brand U-Joints?

I'm about to replace my front U-Joints on my 80 and saw that O'Reilly's carries the Precision (Federal Mogul) brand. Their top of the line U-Joint has the zerk located in the center of one of the cups instead of coming out of the center of the Joint. They say it makes for a stronger Joint, but also seems like it would make it a bit easier to grease the Joints without putting the rig on a rack?? Anyone here ever use this style U-Joint?

Federal-Mogul - Precision Super-Strength U-joints
I hope I am not late into the game on this, so I suggest you to get OEM U-joins with your VIN number as an order spec or the marking color on the shaft - there are about 10 types of the same OEM U-join and you need to get a correct one . the different from one U-join to another is a shim thickness you need to get that specked for your cardan shaft or you vatting your money.

I've found thru extensive rock crawling over the years you can't beat a toyota joint. Even when I had a one tons, 203/205 and 40's I ran 1985 mini truck ujoints. And not just me but a handful of my friends, ranging from 37 stickies to 39.5's. I got flanes from Jesse at High Angle Driveline to run toy joints. He spoke highly of them and put them strength wise above a 1350 spicer joint. And he knows alittle bit about drivelines.

don't have any problems with your brand, but seemed fishy with 3 posts and all...But from working on Jeeps and Yotas I prefer OEM Yota and Spicer joints...Seen way too many others fail on the trail and street...90% of the time its was China joints. if it was from non maintenance or Chinese junk steel, I dont know....I'll pay extra for peace of mind....and one more thing just google Precision Super Strength U joints....seems a lot of folks have problems with them, lot of bronco guys hate them...Peace!..out

OEM joints have a proven track record as the best for these trucks. Maybe for other toyotas precision would be better, but not here.
I'm happy the OEM u-joints worked out well for you and being the "best" one may very well be able to be proven by their track record and I am certainly not trying to say anything to the contrary....just offering an opinion...I'm entitled to it just the same as you are yours.

Well if you think the Toyota u-joints are high quality (and I'm not saying they are or are not,
Actually the factory u-joints are usually the "middle of the road" quality and materials .... [Blah blah precision.. Blah blah ] ...... and especially far outlast anything from factory.
Um, both sides of mouth? Neat trick.

Dude, I quoted you.

Then you misunderstood what I typed....I'm saying that some manufacturers stuff might be of great quality and others may not be of a great quality but that regardless of who the manufacturer is that I have had no problems with u-joints made by Precision......I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone or their opinion ....I'm simply stating my own opinion and my opinion happens to be based on my own experiences.....Get it ! You're reading too much into this or you're not reading everything I have typed, but whatever....

5 year old thread? Wow, my 2 cents,,, my u joints are original with 220k.. I grease them every 6 k with water proof lithium grease,, the blue stuff.. 3 or 4 pumps each with a mini-gun. When or if they ever begin to chirp, I'll go with OEM from the dealership..
Also, in a former life I always replaced the spicer joints on my jeeps with greasable spicers. I've no faith in the so called sealed joints as they always failed around 50 and 75k miles.

Oem joints. Over 300k miles. Often neglected as far as greasing goes. 38 inch tsls and I beat the snot out of it. No problems and I will likely go oem when I have to replace. I have heard Toyota joints are some of the best out there.

Great ...glad they work for you....

So you joined yesterday and dug up a 5 year old thread on universal joints for your first post, a topic that has been beaten to death probably 40 or 50 times on this forum. Either you are a reseller/distributor of the joints you're pushing or you have nothing better to do because you are certainly not adding anything of worth here. Nothing else would justify the combative attitude towards any other opinion.
If you are a vendor, then announce yourself as one. Offer a discount for those who wish to try your products, purchase a vendor star from mud and get real about it and stop acting like a freakin' 8 year old.

"Big Hoss" your post count is exactly 11, and every one of those posts is in this single thread. You are pushing a rope here in this Toyota centric forum. The popular consensus here is Toyota parts are better in this and many applications. When there are other parts that are superior or even just as good the dealer sales people that frequent this board will even sing the praise.

Do you even have a Land Cruiser? Or even a Toyota 4x4?

What I own is not the issue here....I voiced my opinion and that's just what it is--my opinion and you don't have to beat me up for it....I'm not gonna beat you up over your opinion-so give it a rest.

Look I'm not a reseller/distributor and I don't have a combative attitude ..it's just not the same attitude as yours or maybe it's just not one that you like....but if I have to go along with what you say I have, then I will say that the way I justify "my combative attitude" is that I'm entitled to my opinion just the same as you are , but since it is not of the same opinion as what you have....I guess I am wrong , Huh ? ....No, ...I don't think so, we just have different opinions sir-- that's all...nothing more, nothing less.

... not only will you get A bazillion highway miles out of them

Do you warranty them for that long?

...are also tough enough to withstand a beating from off-roading, rock crawling and even race and dragstrip torture also...

The factory joints handle off road just fine, not much drag or other racing done here. Maybe better use of your time to pimp them on a drag site?
