Well, my exhaust is trashed and I have a manifold on the bench that has me thinking I should find a turbo charger... If it can be done for cheap I'd like to try it. I am looking for a Garrett T4 or a turbo off an Eagle Talon or something else smallish. Not looking for something off a Cummins or Flowerpoke.
Thanks, I haven't actively looked at wreckers yet, I just figured somebody might have one laying around, in a goat barn for example... Spud is the first person that came to mind actually. Hes off sampling scotch tonight so maybe he will find this thread tomorrow...
I was there with the wifes boss, didn't want to look like a total pisshead...
But hard not to when you have 15 shots of whiskey lined up in front of you at the beginnning of the night, and at the end, your spittoon is empty when many others are full....
Anyways, I have a tote full of miscellaneous turbo s***e, nothing complete and functional, but depending what you find, I might have an elbow or housing or something that'd help. there's 3 or 4 in pieces in the box.
I know that Malahat auto has a couple pajero's they have a turbo also, dont imagine they are cheap, but there are more and more to choose from ........
pajero turbo is likely too small, since they are a 2.4L diesel. I'm using a volvo t3/airesearch (740, 2.3L oil cooled only) turbo on my 3b, you'll want one at least that big. and check out gpopshop.com (i think) for rebuilt kits, mine was less than $100. If you find a big stash of volvo t3's, let me know, I would be interested in a few more for spares/building a few kits...

pajeros are not common enough to be cheap either... It is sounding like Talon ones might be good because lots of guys upgrade them. I think they are a T25, so a little smaller than the T3. I'm not looking to smash a ton of air in though.
from what I've read, a t25 is just the next generation of garrett turbos. you can have a t25 that is much bigger than a t3, and vice versa... it all depends on your wheel sizes, housings and a/r's. I was looking at those chinese turbos on ebay, they're tempting (cheap), but I haven't seen many people sucessfully use them on the long term. But they're worth checking out, maybe you'll could be the guinea pig?
