Here are mine. I have another one going on the backside of the console... does the trick. Total cost, $2.99 from the marine store and a can of spray bomb.

Cheers

Thanks for the input, good to see some options.

I ended up modifying a cupholder I had on the shelf from an old Subar Liberty. I haven't finished the fill panel yet but I am thining it might fit my UHF face plate in there.

Anyway here it is.

My BJ71 had two factory sliding tray's in that position under the stereo. The first one was marked "Free Box" (got to love the translation) and was a shallow storage tray. Below that was a slide out cup holder, that held 2 very small cups (maybe for Saki, :p). The couple times I did try using them, I found it was a great way to spill all over the stereo and dash.

Are these cup holders aval aftermarket?

Since the Swamp Donkeys have adopted a 'no cupholder' rule I maintain that these are merely square receptacles.

Yup same here. 98% of things don't fit in there. I thought about making an adapter to fit a 1L nalgene bottle.

I should really invest in one of the nalgene spash guards.
I get wet just about every trip at least once....

duct tape roll works very well
i put the boiling hot timmy's cup on the sloped section of the dash right in front of my face, it usually rides there very well unless i corner like some punk-ass kid at which time i am trying to turn with my right hand and catch the coffee cup with my left before it lands in Berni's lap (which will win me a night of "your sleeping on the couch") while my dog Cruiser is pushing against my side to keep himself situated.
needless to say i corner much more gracefully now. it is almost a challenge for me to drive the entire cup without it moving. the angle is perfect, i just need to add some anti-slip and it would be a perfect cup holder.

in the bush, i don't bring hot coffee and most of my drinks have screw on caps so they just get thrown on the dash.
