Does anyone else sell the u-bolt flip kits other than man-a-fre?

Did not really want to spend $300 plus shipping to do this job. I keep bending the bolts on rocks and just want them out of the way. And NO we are not going to go sprung over just to solve this issue, but thanks for wanting to suggest it :flipoff2: and you know you wanted to.

Make your own or find someone local who will make them for ya. search on here its been done a few times. And for me personally its a waste of $ @ least at $300 it is.

Everyone complains about dragging bolts and stuff, but you are SUA and prob running 33's. Isnt that more of a reason of dragging things more so than being SUA. You could put 2 used lockrights in your truck for the price of the flip kits. Which one you with will get you further?? Basically just saying to make your mods wisely and think through them and the $ involved.

You can get u-bolt skid plates, which lower your ground clearance even more, but protect the bolt ends.

I put the MAF kit on when I did my OME + shackles, and was very happy with how it turned out. Especially the rear axle. The u-bolts they supplied don't fit exactly, they had to be bent a little. Plus they are raw metal and have to be painted.

Looks much nicer and uniform underneath.

I thought about the skid plate thing, but the idea of lower ground clearance bothers me ALOT! It seams odd to me that they even sell the u-bolts with the kit. It would seem to me that I should be able to use the ones that I already have, assuming that they are not so F'd up that I have to cut them to get them off.

Looks like I will be getting a hold of Redline to see what they can do for me.

I have the MAF kit. I'm quite pleased. A Openads on another forum () suggested a GM part, you might look into that, seemed like a pretty clean install.

And I understand that there is an alternate mounting location for the rear shocks if that's an issue...

;)

DT, RLMS will be at our get-together Saturday and I should be able to show you what he did for me then too.

I too went the U-nolt reversal by maf when I did the OME 2 years ago and love it. ya, 300 is a kick ing the balls but forthit to me. I hope you can get them made for you cheaper. You'll love them.

is that for all 4 , 2 front 2 rear for a fj 62?

MAF U bolt flip kit

I did this years ago and I still have the hardware on my SOA conversion. One of the things that happened, and I have posted this before, is that they will bend. Since the design incorporates a groove in the bottom plate for the U bolt, it creates and area where the forces of the spring will eventually win out and bend it. I welded a 3/8 inch plate on top of their plate and the problem was solved. For the money, I should have bought a plasma cutter and made my own, but hindsight is always 20/20.

I bought them from Man-a-fre. They bent. I don't care unless they break. I started a tread about it, but i am to lazy to link it right now. :p

I titled it something like "4+ flip kit" or something like that.
