Love my Bilsteins on my 80.

I am thinking of doing this on the 100. I do not plan on lifting it or doing heavy offroading. But I would like a little bit of a stiffer ride than OEM.

Any experience?

Thanks

Famous last words ;p

Sounds like a good deal

Let us know what you think of the Billies when you get them on

We have bilstein on my wifes stock 100 and it rides great. She said it firmed it up and took away wishy washy feeling we had with the stock shocks.

Sweet! What year is your 100?

Just your basic stock '99 100 with Bilsteins and air bags in the rear.
100 Land Cruiser (4).webp

I put them on my 2001 UZJ100 and am very pleased. Firmed up the ride, but not bone jarring by any means. I put them on at about 45K as well as a set of stock sized BFG A/T KO's...Very pleased with the ride .

this is one of the many areas of automobiles that just loses me.

Especially in talking about the 100 (post '01) and in my case, the '00 LX, how would new shocks affect the AHC and ride comfort selection?

You can't use these shocks if you have AHC since the AHC shocks are special hydraulic units. If you tried to run double shocks (i.e., if you had a custom mount made for dual shocks), the AHC is supposed to adaptively adjust to the road conditions, so it might just think the second shock combined w/ AHC shock is a different road condition, so you notice little difference. My guess, anyways.

Had the Bilsteins on my 100 before I did the OME lift. I miss them. The Bilsteins eliminate the side to side "100 wallow" with no real down side. Definite improvement over stock. The 100 really can corner with the Billies. Enjoy!!
