I don't know the seller or the truck specifically, but I've seen it around and it looks clean but not pristine. The price is a little steep for the condition IMO, but prices on KZJ78's are crazy these days. Would be a fun rig if it is in good shape mechanically.

That price is bonkers man and honestly you'd be trading down. I get the appeal of wanting a diesel cruiser but I think you'll miss the size your 80 currently has.
Also, do you really want to start over again?

No, no I don’t. I’ve spent a good chunk of my life and $ on my 80 and it treats me very well. It always needs some attention that I can’t afford to give to another rig. I plan to wheel it until one of us dies.

I would agree with this assessment. Having daily driven a couple of 78's and an 81, I have to say the 80-series is a much nicer vehicle overall: better road manners, more comfortable ride, more creature comforts, better off road. The JDM HDJ81 is the pinnacle of the LandCruiser lineup, in my opinion. That doesn't keep my from loving my current 78, though!
