It is perfectly OK to drool too ;)
I am going to paint my bezel white too to match the roof.
Old school looks great!

Awwww.... Now that's beautiful...

That color looks great on an FJC.

I can honestly say, that if toyota came out with an fj of that color, i would consider selling my 40 for one. Now that i think about, j/k. :flipoff2: Still lot nicer though.

I was amazed there was no retro red...

and i quote " Gaaaaahhhhhh"

I love it! Now lets see a red one!

Toyota didn't come out with all those "old" colors because of the market...they were not trying to copy the fj 40 or they would have built the version that TLC helped come up with.

Toyota didn't think that Buffalo Brown, Dune Beige, Freeborn red, baby poop color, or any of those classic colors would sell well because the puplic likes yellow, brite red, and other more modern colors.

The majority of the FJs in my area are drove by mid 20s -40 year old women(and i am assuming this isn't just in my area) who think they are cute and like to talk on their cell phones 90% of the time they drive(not that there is anything wrong with that) but you have to look at the target market.

When toyota targets this crowd you will no it. If they truely target this market you will have a chance at a softtop, classic colors and alot more of the things that have been requested here. Toyota reads MUD, don't they woody??

Toyota reads just about all Toyota forums.
They did target this market IMO, or they would not have the Trail Teams touring the USA showing off the FJs capabilities off road.

If they watned to attract the bling bling crowd, there would be no need for the Trail Teams, and you would see ads on the TV for these as much as the other Toyota lineup.

I guess SLEE,TRD, TLC, KING, DONAHOE, ALL-PRO, DEMELLO, OME, ARB, TJM, FABFOUR and the TLCA, as well as every major OFFROAD magazine, wheel and suspension manufacturer, offroad product company and the HUGE following the FJCRUISER has had within 1 YEAR on the market means TOYOTA did not target this market?

The FJ CRUISER has been on the market for 1 year. Within that time, you can now get a larger selection of aftermarket armor and suspension than the 60, 80 and 100 series combined.

RIGHT NOW, you can get a coilover suspension bolt-in upgrade, ARB lockers, regear, front/rear bumpers (from a big selection), expedition quality roofracks, storage drawers, crawler box, 100's of add-ons geared for offroad, a factory TRD offroad pkg, plus custom show FJC's pointing to OFFROAD-focused versions (like the TRD pickup, the Ultimate Adventure FJC, tons of offroad show FJC's).

That is YEAR 1.

What did YEAR 1 of the FJ60 look like? what about 1990 for the FJ80 or 1998 for the UZJ100?

Like it or not, the FJC is focused on this market. Not convinced? Good, Toyota set up the Toyota Trails Team so that you can decide based on actual seat time.

Corey,
Thanks for posting the photos- that color looks fantastic! And more impressive that he sprayed it right by taking it all apart to do it!

I went straight to the trail teams as evidence of toyota's market intent as well, but maybe Mr. T just misjudged and missed the intended market by appealing to a much larger group;) ?

You are welcome FirstToy.
I know they are sending the photos to Toyota, and I hope they take notice there.

They have developed a rig that is going to have quite a cult following.
Never have I seen so much aftermarket stuff before released so quick.

This forum can be such a downer when the haters interject usless comments about how :princess: they think the FJC is...
