I just can't justify the mileage AND having to use premieum gas at the prices today. WHEN IS THE DIESEL COMING?!?!?!

Very doubtful that a diesel will be available anytime soon. This has been discussed to death here and in other forums.

My plan is to wait for the 3 year warranty to run out and then find a Turbo-Diesel Prado half-cut somewhere.

you can use reg. octane w/ the 1GR-FE, no problem.

ULSD is in effect in the USA now so we should be getting the diesels. Here is a thread on the topic in Diesel tech
