Does anyone has pictures of 2.5" lift with stock tires? ;)

Sorry I got my 285/75/16 a couple weeks before the lift, but here are before/after pics of the lift (OME Heavy).

Well, almost stock. These tires are the Blizzaks but the same size. The lift size was perfect for what I do now. I will get bigger tires next summer.

Not too bad.... :) I will seriously consider it... How is the ride, and MPG?

My Mich tires are almost new, and I just don't want to sell it or throw it away.

i rocked the 2.5 with stock road tires for about 2-3 years nothing wrong with them they may not do well in the wet but you still go more places then if the whole truck was stock. i didnt see much difference in over all MPG Ride is a bit stiffer i remember however i was comming up from lx springs so others my disagree. I will say though that i fet more comfortable driving my truck at high speeds with the lift then with out due to the extra stiffness. I say rock the stockers till you need a replace then go from there.

What a Difference a day makes!

I sold my stockers for 300 bones on craigslist!

(full size spare included)

Much happier with the bigger shoes.

Skillet,

Are those 35"s or 33"s?

Hey Ben,

I know every rig is different, but what kind of driveline issues did you run into with no addtl weight and OME heavy springs? Did you need a new driveshaft?

I have had no issues, though I have not done the caster correction yet. I need to do it, and it has a chance of messing up the driveshaft angle, causing vibes. However, as it is right now the steering is a little twitchy (caster) but absolutely no vibes. I keep ~60-100lbs of gear in the cargo area almost all the time. I don't have any spacers, but it is with in about a 1/4 inch of level when I measured it. It rides well, increased my ground clearance, and looks just right IMHO.

Resurrecting this from the dead instead of starting a new thread/same topic...

Has anyone kept stock size tires with the 2.5" lift long term? I wouldn't mind going ~1" taller on the tires (with lift) but don't want to get into re-gearing, less MPG, etc...

Thoughts? Newer pics?

Thanks again!

IMHO 2.5" lift w/ 285/75/16's is a good "long term" solution if that is what you are looking for. Its a good balance and common enough tire size at a decent prices.

^ That's ~1.5" over stock size, correct? Any need to regear? I know if going taller than that it's probably a good idea, just wonder about that 33-ish height.

Thanks!
