I have a set of headers for my fj40 i was thinking about sending off to get jet hotted and ceramic coated. Has anyone ever done this or have any feedback? It looks like a good process to help control heat, maximize performance and keep them looking good

I had a my stock manifolds ceramic coated. Was supposed to just be the exhaust but the shop messed up and did both. It worked well until it all flaked off a few months later. I think that was just an issue with the shop as all the work they did for me was sub-par. If I could find a good place to do the work I'd definitely have my exhaust manifold or headers ceramic coated.

smoking gun.. the rock? fill me in and i will do it. tear down starts next week and parts start arriving so i will get it off and shipped.

Smoking Gun is owned by the guys at ACC Toyota. Their website is Smoking Gun Custom Powder Coating. Good guys and really good work. They are located near Atlanta.

I have heard of others having issues with jet hot coating in other types of vehicles too.

theres a big Jet Hot plant recently opened up on I40 near burlington FWIW

but otherwise contact S.CarolinaFZJ ??? Sam that used to be around these parts, bought WolfpackTLC's old blower and had his ex manifold and airbox ceramic coated by a lil independent sort of near you in ole Denver.......NC that is. He had great things to say about the temps when he stopped by here for some parts before heading to Sandy Eggo.

ill look for his contact or at least double check his screename

product looked really nice and he swore it was a noticeable difference in temps
just check with him now a couple years later to see about durability.

found it on one of his old threads. Airborne Coatings in Mt Holly it looks like. Pics were sharp too!
