it's almost time to replace my current tires (285 75r16 bfg AT)

and I want to try something tall and skinny. The options in 255/85r16 are quite limited and rather expensive compared to my current size. here are what I know of:

BFG KM2
Maxxis BIGHORN MT-762
Toyo Open Country M/T
Toyo M-55
Cooper S/T MAXX
Cooper Discoverer S/T

there is a thread here, but expo seems rather slow these days: The 255/85R16 Tire Official List - Expedition Portal

are there any others out there?

I don't do much MT stuff and much prefer an AT style tire for daily highway driving and desert/snow.

thanks! updated.

they're still all so expensive! none of the options are <200usd. I might just end up going with 285's just because they cost so much less.

The 16 is what's killing you on options. Several companies have 285/75R17s, which comes out to 34x10.50... but they're not going to be on the cheaper end of the spectrum. There are always options- it just comes down to your wallet.

I'm with you- I'd go with the 285/75 because of the price variance.

You need to hit up Woody in this thread...there are a lot of people interested in a tall/skinny tire.
