I noticed in the "what's your other vehicle" thread, that a lot of 200 series owners are mountain bikers.

How many of you are coming out to Breckenridge this summer?

If you were not planning on coming to the 200 series event in Breckenridge this summer, you now have another reason to make the trip!

Colorado is home to a lot of AMAZING mountain biking trails.

I'm not a pro like some of the members who have posted action shots, but I'm a pretty strong intermediate rider/weekend warrior and I know a lot of awesome trails in the greater Denver area. It would be fun to hit up some local trails with fellow 200 series owners.

I may bring mine now that mention it. Not sure how well or how quick my cardio will adapt to those elevations though.

Yes, the riding in CO is absolutely amazing. The Leadville 100 is on my bucket list. I've ridden out of Breck a few times and had a blast. Breck has some awesome singletrack. I've ridden various parts of the CO trail, the classic Breck route and some of the Peaks trail. It was all awesome.

I would love that, but I suspect my leg will still be pretty muscle-free this summer.
Normally, I would jump at the chance.

I get out there to ride from time to time. I'll hit you next time I'll be there (going in April, but bringing my ww boat, not my bike). Will probably be in July coming back and forth from a trip to Banff. And if anyone finds their way out to KC, hit me up, we have some great trails thanks to some amazing trail building groups.

Been wondering this for some time.
If not...I wonder if a bike-rack-only hitch could be attached to teh swing-out itself so that the bike & rack moves with the tire...

I've seen something like that on google images when searching the web prior to purchasing this carrier

Awesome, you should. As far as the elevation goes, its definitely humbling at first.

I grew up in Utah, and every time I go back my lungs and quads kill me. Love the out and backs though. When I first moved to KC the high humidity was even worse, and I don't think you every truly get used to it. Makes it so you can't breathe. Had a buddy from Utah come out and ride and the humidity took him out.

i tried a one up rack on my 100 and the swingouts hit the rack. Bump it up high clearance bumper.

Do any of ski lift areas in Breck set up down-hill tracks for bikes in the Summer? Big Bear a couple hours north of me started doing that 3 or 4 years ago and it's an absolute blast...even though I'm not a true "downhiller."

Keystone has some pretty cool downhill at their resort. I used to ride Northstar at Tahoe when I lived in NorCal. Tons of fun.

@Markuson -

I've done downhill at Vail and it's a blast! I think all the ski resorts (or at least many of them) have downhill biking in the summer. All the fun of downhill, but a nice gondola ride to the top!

Mostly a roadie. And I've been off the bikes for 3 years. But I'm trying to get back into it and I wouldn't mind doing one of the ski downhills though at almost 65 years old I'll probably play it a bit save.

@Willy beamin, nice 1Up bike rack. I've had one for a few years. I love it.

I've been eying the 1up for some time. If I hadn't smashed my body, I'd have bought one by now. Once I'm up and running again, I think that will be next on my list.

Thanks for the invite! I'm not planning on driving to CO this year, but I used to live there and have ridden Breck, Crested Butte, and a lot around COS. Have fun!

And if anyone is ever near North Alabama, there is some great riding here and I'll show you around. Alas, not quite Colorado caliber...

Coldwater? I am hearing nothing but rave reviews on that trail system. Bunch of my buddies have been up there to ride and race. I haven't made it up that way yet. However we have some work at the Anniston Army Depot and I am trying to figure out a way to get in on the work and bring my MTB with me :)
