Any interest here for Fiberglass 70 series parts ?

Has anyone visually inspected the FG replacement frames, some are awful, some a nice.
. I think with some good preparation ,you can avoid rusty frames.

I have had a few in the past and from this suplier they look the same, just not easy to deal with him and get him to make some more :(

Ebay is filled with snorkels for 70 series.

Ya but one piece at a time....with shipping from OZ more than the item cost ... maybe im missing something???

OK...thanks.....was looking for something under $500 w/delivery for im guessing diamond encrusted plastic?? Not blaiming Kurt in the least...but come on...its ABS plastic.... Just bought a Super heavy duty commercial grade trash can made out of the same but 500% more of the same stuff for $56.00... And for some reason the makers of these snorkels seem to be gouging the sh%t out of us Cruiser heads....the same grade snorkels for other rigs are $200 - $250

below is a snorkel for under $70
Lexus Toyota Cold Air Safari Rolling Head Snorkel Intake Kit

OK...rant complete........to much coffee................ :skull:

I don't get the appeal of snorkels. Yes, I have one and I would remove and sell it if I could but the rectangle opening in the fender won't be pretty. It just brings unwanted attention for me along with the occasional questions asking me what it is for followed by "why in the hell would you want to do that?" when I tell them what it is for.

Next time I buy a 70 series, it won't have a snorkel, won't be from south America and it will be a diesel. I will make sure of that. :)

@FJ73Texas ..... "it won't have a snorkel"

I love my snorkel ..... Along with folks telling me I have a "cool Jeep" they seem equally mesmerized by the fact that I can drive underwater. :)

So I guess I should wait before I start cutting a hole in my newest HZJ73 then ;-)

Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series LC II 2doors 4Doors SNORKEL NEW WORLDWIDE SHIPPING | eBay

Snorkel kit ST075A for Landcruiser HZJ HJ FJ 70 71 73 75 78 series Toyota 4x4 | eBay

Took me about 2 minutes to find these, I know why the Safari is more expensive and if I was gonna need a snorkel frequently I would pony up and get the full Safari kit including new airbox and all connections and accessories.

If it is just for looks I would go the Ebay route......or just take one of the ones I still have at the shop :-)

Yes Ive seen both of those...first one is for series 2 or what they refer to as wide nose....so unsure of how it willl fit...

The reason for a snorkel for us is going to the desert..there are a couple seasonal water crossings...but more to get the intake higher, away from the sand and dust

Almost 1 year to the day that I reserved my windshield frame, @joekatana hand delivered to me...

For those wondering, this is a STOUT piece of fiberglass with reinforcements where things are bolted to the frame.

No, and didn't think to ask. I'll follow up with @joekatana to see if he has any recommendations. He said all the guys in Europe use these without issue.

We just use common sense to fasten hardware,it is not like you are torquing down headbolts or anything.
