Hello guys,

Just wondering. My rear window frames are faded and rusted. I already got a replacement frame and rubber for both sides. Any tips or input how to take it off and install a new one. Appreciate any insights.

I have FRP top and I had to get the entire window out of the top before separating glass from the frame.

On the inside is a clip thing that looks like edge trim.. runs all around the periphery of the frame.
Find the end and start unclipping.
From the outside, I used a box cutter to cut away at hard rubber and maybe caulk between frame and body.

Some of the original rubber seals are available. I will use butyl "rope" in place of NLA deals.

Hello,

The Search function is your friend.

Check for water tightness after you are finished. Repeat the sealant application as necessary.

There are a number of replacement threads on the forum. Search in the forums or via Google with this:
FRP window replacement site: Ih8mud.com

This will limit the search to mud. Take pictures and share your progress. I’m interested, as I have to do the same. I have all the seals and runners, but am going to reuse my frames.

Good luck!
