Any Idea what this is going to cost?

Late I know, but it turned out very well. Now all I need is a good electrician in San Francisco to help me install some Daniel Stern lights. I tried to install my own harness a couple months ago and nearly electrocuted myself. :o Anyone here from San Francisco that could recommend a good shop for lighting installations?

Damn, that looks sharp... (have you considered a blacked-out grill?)

Many times. I don't really know how I'd do it because I don't want to buy another. I have been trying to figure out this lighting thing first, and black the sucker out when I get the lights done. I thought I could re-do the harness myself, but I really almost fried the electrical system (and myself) in the process. Not what I need to do....

Did you go with the harness kit from Daniel, or a pre-fab from someone else?

I started with a pre fab fog light kit from Hella that I got through SOR. I damn near killed myself. Decided to go through Daniel and he leped me work out the the setup that I want. Installing it is my worry. I want it done right and I don't know enough to feel confident running up to Tahoe in a snow storm this winter on my handywork alone. I'm really looking for a good auto mechanic or someone in the area to work on it with. It's also good in case I do electrocute myself and need to go to a hospital. I was alone last time and almost fried the whole wiring system. Seriously not smart.

Bummer, I put together a DS harness, thought I could help walk you through it if that's what you have.

Huh....I will re-engage with Daniel, it's been a couple of months. I want to upgrade my lights badly. Last year I was in trouble on I80 up to Tahoe with the low beams. The stock wiring system just sucks after 18 years. If I do get this harness from Daniel you may have a ton of Questions from me. Looking at your pics here just makes me want to get it done!

No problem, I might have to blow a bit of dust off the noggin, but I'm up for doing what I can. Say, if you get hold of Daniel, would you PM and let me know. I've sent him a couple e-mails that have gone without reply. Not sure if I have an old address or something. (not sure why he wouldn't respond, I want to buy something ;))

No fitment issues on my truck. I think I plugged them in from behind once in place through, so this required the removal of the battery, and I suppose whatever is on the other side of the rad (on mine, this means the remote oil filter setup, overflow has been relocated, headlight washer and smog silencer removed).

Is that rear drivers side marker light two tone yellow and red? Is that stock? P.O. replaced mine with all yellow.

Textor,

I live in the city as well. I was wondering where the body shop is that you used? I'm currently trying to finish my Vortec conversion but when I'm done my 62 needs some ding repair and maybe paint.

I saw the job done one a FJ60 on CCOT and thought the rig looked amazing. Check the electrical parts section.

That and your paint job are what I am going for, only with a FULL black out and the too common dark gray (to stick with the original color), not silver. I don't mean to be a dick, and your paint job does look good, but it should have been a glass-out, door handle out, and grill/headlight off job.

I went to Fernandos on Pacific and Van Ness. I got a great deal and he's an honest guy. He was restoring a 51 Bentley in there, My dad owns one as well, so I knew he had done a great job on it. I'd give him a call if you are looking for some help. He'll give you an honest assesment.

I didn't have too much for the job (2000 was my budget) and the job was done very well. I asked that the windows and handles not be pulled to save some of the labor costs. Fernando did pull the grille, lights, logos and mud guards. Overall I am extremely happy it turned out so well. I got the damage fixed and the paint job for 2,000 flat. Not bad for a 18 year old rig that doesn't owe me anything.
