I also watched this 24 minute video on the lost coast ... it inspired me to go !

Huge thanks @onedaatmc. That is really helpful. We'll be going out probably in May (anniversary) and this spot looks perfect. Thanks for sharing.

Cool I'm glad I could help ! :) But remember don't go on a weekend !!! the locals use this spot for drinking, drugging, raising hell , cranking tunes, shooting guns all hours of the night ( there are many websites and reviews that say this ) ... so during the week is best !

I've never been, do you have any spots you can recommend? I'd like something we have to wheel into and are unlikely to see other folks for at least a day or two.
Not seeing another person for a day or two is a pretty tall order in California, unless you're on private land, and the owner is away. Maybe in the middle of the week.

I have not been to the lost Coast in awhile, but I remember the part north of Shelter Cove, through the King Range, was spectacular and no one was there.

Once you get to Petrolia, you can head out to the coast and go to the old light house pad. It's a beautiful spot.

Well when I was there , there was no one ... but I only stayed for a day ... but I know spots in the Trinity wilderness and elsewhere , where you'll not see anyone for many days...

Highway 101 to avenue of the Giants! Just went this weekend! It's amazing!!!

yes Ave of the Giants is cool ! can't 4 wheel there , but all the giant sequoias will blow your mind ... watch out for "widow makers" though
