I have found some info on line but not much.....
I want to use my current trailer frame.....

Im not sure if it can be done..but was wondering if anybody has any good info on how to build one and what and where to get the materials to make it happen...

I know there are some very resourceful folks out there...
Hopefully one or some one will point me on the right direction or know of someone doing something like this....

Thanks... I'll read up and see if I can take on this project.....

Cheap & easy way, make it out of plywood. But I'm a believer that wood has no place as a structural parts of any vehicle or camper. It doesn't play well with water or vibrations.

My build, that is stalled out:mad: All metal construction.

I was thinking of doing it as a business, but my method is way too labor intensive to make a profit. I think it took around 60 hrs just to bend up the two hoops. They have to be exactly the same or the roof sheeting won't line up.

So I see why everyone uses wood, then just skins it, but for offroad especially, I dont think its a good idea. Look at motorhomes, it seems like they're always falling apart after 15 yrs or so.

Wow.....
Props to yah...
That looks good

Thanks for sharing..

what month ? I check the one on the stands right now but did not see anything ....regarding teardrops..

Google outback teardrop. A guy in CA I think built one for offroad and it turned out sweet. He's got a web site just for the build.

I have plans for a 12 foot four person teardrop.

If you are interested PM me and I will dig into my computer to find the plans.

It is my plan to build it next year so the info is archived, but if you want i9t, it is all yours.

Best,

T

I'm developing a scheme involving a tear drop myself.

Getting annoyed at having too many trailers, so I'm thinking of fixing up my yard work/junk trailer, and building a tear drop "insert" that will just slide onto a flat deck and get bolted down when I want it.

I figger this will make the tear drop build waaay easier and quicker, as I won't have to deal with a trailer frame/axle etc etc.

We'll see tho. building a boat at the moment...kinda takes up my time a little.

Sorry for the delay.

After a month of looking for the new URL...

The URL for a great teardrop page is:

Teardrop Camper Plans

The URL for a great 12 foot teardrop is:

The 2 + 2

Not a tear drop

I am building one as we speak, it is a tear drop idea, but not the look. I hate it, keep thinking I am going see Lucile Ball step out of them. JMHO.

Mine is listed here in the trailer tech section under skersfan' s base camp. You can get the general idea of how they are built by looking at the build pictures, any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
